Our History

In May 2008, the ministry began as a family fellowship/worship service and weekly Bible study.  Within a month the attendance grew from 5 members of the Wells family to 15 attendees. In June of 2008, Reverend Kenneth & Evangelist, Maria Wells were led by the Spirit of God to begin “The Church-God’s Assembly” a Family and Community Mission. We are an independent Ministry in good standing with The Full Gospel Christian Fellowship, Commonwealth Region; Bishop Richard J. Hunter, Overseer.

In February 2009, The Church-God’s Assembly began its first Community Missions at the River Run Senior Apartments, in Woodbridge, VA; and Summerville’s Assisted Living (now Brookdale) Dementia Unit, in Lake Ridge, VA. Our Missions and Partnerships have grown significantly since inception!  Including our participation in the Alzheimer’s Association (National Capital Chapter) walk to end Alzheimer in 2014; and our newest community partnership with The SkillSource Group (Prince William Location) 2015. Pastor Kenneth and Evangelist Maria Wells were ordained by the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship on August 2, 2009. Pastor Maria was elevated in 2014.
